Greetings from Poe
Thank you for taking an interest in my personal site! Here you can find all the art that I've churned out over the years, along with some stories, poems, recipes, videos, and even pictures of my garden. I update about once a month, but I'm more active on Flickr and Twitter, so feel free to follow me or add me as a contact on either of those two sites if you wish. I hope you enjoy your time here! :)
It's a Bit Sunny in Here - June 19, 2009
NEW:
- 3 Fangamer Sketches
- 10 Garden Pics
- 1 Gift (from Sebastian)
My sunflowers have been extremely busy since the last update. Many of them are blooming and those that aren't have buds that are mere days away from popping open. It's so neat to watch them grow from tiny seeds into giant behemoths that are taller than my fence. Well okay, only one of them grew taller than the fence, but that's pretty huge for a flower! I must encourage everyone reading this to plant mammoth sunflower seeds at least once in your life. It's amazing watching them grow and they're beautiful when they finally open. Sunflowers are the easiest flowers to grow and maintain too, so you don't need to be a master gardener to produce something beautiful.
Rain, Rain, Please Come Back! - May 30, 2009
NEW:
That Fangamer gallery is new becase I started getting serious with those sketches so I didn't think they belonged in Doodles anymore. I also started scanning a lot more of them, making a new gallery all the more needed. So if you order something from Fangamer, maybe you'll get lucky and receive a packing slip that I drew! I want to thank the people at Fangamer for giving me the opportunity to do this. And thanks also for bringing quality geek wear to nerds like me!
My garden is very busy right now. A few early bloomers are making me squeal with joy and the rest are working hard to catch up. We've had great thunderstorms nearly every day for the past 2 weeks, so things have been progressing nicely.
My Garden Says HELLO! - May 7, 2009
NEW:
Semi-small update since many things are distracting me right now and I'm also running low on ideas. I don't even have any recipes brewing! Well, there IS one, but I need to find the right kind of onions first.
SPRIIIIIIIIIIING - April 3, 2009
NEW:
Yep, it's officially spring and I couldn't be happier. I've been planting a few things here and there, so each update should have progress pics from my garden for many months to come. I got the nerve to plant mammoth sunflowers this year, and those babies are capable of growing taller than me, so I can't waaaait. I also joined Twitter recently, so if you want to follow me, feel free.
Did a bunch of house cleaning around the site, most of which you probably won't notice. I went ahead and switched back to the island layout since it's silly to stay snowy when so many things are growing outside. I'll see you next winter, cutesy snowman!
Spring is ALMOST Here! - March 4, 2009
NEW:
Quick update today. Next time I'll probably have some more silly doodles and hopefully a few more garden pics. I'm keeping an eye on the loquats and I'm just waiting until a few that are closer to my eye level start to ripen before I start snapping pics. In the meantime, I've been taking pictures of other people's plants; you can see them on my flickr photostream.
The snow melts, but the layout stays frozen - February 10, 2009
NEW:
Notice anything different around here? Yep, we left the island and have opted for a land covered in snow! emilio created this cute winter layout for me, and I am forever humbled by his skills. Grateful too! I could never do anything like this by myself. I've also added a few new links if you're interested in seeing how I like to waste my time.
Blustery Winter Updates - January 18, 2009
NEW:
- 1 Short Story
- 2 Gifts (from Sebastian)
I was planning on having a lot more new stuff for this update, but it's way past Christmas now and the above new things all pertain to that very long holiday, so it was time to get them out into the open. I've also prepared my garden page for the new growing season by moving all the 2008 plants to another page. As I type this, the azalias have started to bud and the loquat tree has started producing fruit, so I'll probably have some new pics for that section in the next update. Can't wait to eat some delicious loquats!
The links page got a few new additions. The best one I want to mention here as well: EarthBound Central. Tomato created that site/blog because Starmen.Net gets so overloaded with fan updates that actual cool EB news is often overlooked. Right now he's doing daily updates over there and he plans to keep the pace for a very long while. Lots of cool things are being planned, so if you're an EB fan, head on over there and check it out! That site easily gets Poe's stamp of approve for coolest new site of 2009.
